A FILM THAT CHANGED MY LIFE!

A FILM THAT CHANGED MY LIFE!

A FILM THAT CHANGED MY LIFE?

This is frequently asked question, by one the finest critic in INDIA RAJEEV MASAND, to big filmmakers and actors etc. But besides him, many people have asked me the same question, I mostly don't have a definite answer, cause there were soo many great movie I saw. Like for example, INCEPTION was the movie the opened a world called cinema, truly I used to love
movies since I was a kid, but after watching INCEPTION, I said I just know wanna watch more and more great movies.

BiRDMAN was the movie, that after watching I immediately picked up my camera and start shooting anything, I have made short-films (NONE OF THEM ARE ON YOUTUBE, OR  ANYWHERE ELSE, THEY ARE JUST WITH ME ;)) The camera work in that movie was a unique one, and immediately caught my attention.

But, none of them in a way changed my life, the film after watching I said, Okay I would love to pursue my career in movies, in other words I wanted to become a filmmaker was one and only Martin Scorsese's TAXI DRIVER.

THE STUFF YOU GONNA READ HAPPENED IN REAL!

STORY: Back in late 2012 or early 2013, I used to love watching movies, as I has seen Inception. I surely had not even half of knowledge about cinema back then, then I
have know. So, I heard about this movie, TAXI DRIVER, I ordered its DVD, and got it.I had Taxi Driver, but never was in eager to watch it, untill one day my friend
came to my place and saw TAXI DRIVER, now he wasn't much of a film-buff, but he said he heard alot about that movie, he said that he heard about it from me, I was
shocked as I didn't knew much about it. He said that if he could borrow the DVD of TAXI DRIVER. First thing I said to him, was sure, but my brain suddenly tought,
that I hadn't watched the movie, and my friend would take it and watch it before me, I mean how could that be possible, I NEED TO WATCH IT BEFORE HIM!

I said to him that if I can give him the DVD tommorow he said sure no problem but asked WHY? I replied, I need to watch it again, I haven't seen it in a long time now
He replied sure, but surely give me tommorow. I with a fake smile sure mate :).

He went, and I had a sigh of relief.

There I was cancelling my plans for the day (INCLUDING TUTION, A MEETING WITH ANOTHER FRIEND, HOMEWORK). I didn't care about anything, more then watching TAXI DRIVER.

I popped the DVD (AT THAT TIME, DIDN'T HAD ANY BLURAYS :P), in my DVD player, and he it begain, with and epic score coming and it was written in yellow and bold "TAXI DRIVER". I was intrigued by the
opening credits itself. Then I read MARTIN SCORSESE, I had seen his GOODFELLAS, THE DEPARTED, THE AVIATOR etc, before this. I knew him well, but back then he wasn't
my favourite director of all time. Next came, Mr. Travis Bickle giving introduction to a cab station owner, I swear by the attitude of ROBERT DI NIRO, in that
scene it self, I got intrested in the movie suddenly.

The narration made by TRAVIS BICKLE was overwhelming, I got more and more intrested as the movie go on, and he wrote diary entries which were presented us with his
narration. I just cannot forget the writing in the scene where Martin Scorsese himself gives a cameo, "Hey, dont writer, I dont want you to write".

Then came the beginning of Mr.Bickle's preparation for .......(NO SPOILERS SO..). Quotes like "Here is man who would not take it anymore, a man........". I just got
more and more intriguted with the character of TRAVIS BICKLE.

Then came the epic finale, which is unforgettable, and the last scene, BICKLE driving away his cab. As soon, as the credits rolled up, I knew I had seen something,
different. TAXI DRIVER, just grew more and more in me.

Truly, I owe my love for movies to this masterpiece,Thanks to MARTIN SCORSESE, PAUL SCHADER & ROBERT DI NIRO, for making such a brilliant and unforgettable movie.
I have seen this movie more then 8-9 times now, and would still watch it, and never get tired of it. Now that does not happen with every movie does it?

I have seen many movies since TAXI DRIVER, and lots of GREAT one's, but TAXI DRIVER still remains my no.2 favourite movie of all time, first being THE GODFATHER.

SO WHICH MOVIE CHANGED YOUR LIFE? WOULD LOVE TO KNOW THEM IN THE COMMENT'S SECTION.
